What is out there? Your guess is as good as anyone elses. The probability of something being out there is quite high. Strange sightings of strange flying craft have been recorded for thousands of years by many cultures. The only explanation they ever had was that they must have come from the stars. In this modern technological age this is still about the only real conjecture that any responsible person could assume. From all our rapidly expanding scientific understanding of astrophysics and the spectacular Hubbell telescope pictures from deep space at the very least begins to confirm that there are plenty of places for other things to exist. In the late 1940's and early 50's a large number of sightings were reported. A lot of folk's imaginations, delusions, misinterpretation of aircraft and/or other natural phenomenon certainly accounted for many of them, but, perhaps not all. Personal background as to qualifications as an objective observer. Growing up living eight miles from a large airforce base and a mile from a municipal airport, I developed an intense interest in aircraft and model building at an early age. I could identify virtually any aircraft as well as anyone even at a distance, 20/20 vision, with many years as an aircraft designer, builder, restorer and pilot. Personal experiences within the realm of strange but no prize, all "sightings" in North central Texas. 1980, Nov.,about 10:00 PM, clear skies, a brilliant white light sighted 40 degrees azimuth, 0 degrees North, estimated height at or above 100,000 feet, flight path 180 degrees South, estimated speed in excess of 20,000 mph, no sounds . Note, having observed the space shuttle and station in orbital path this sighting was not reflected light and moved faster. 1973, July, about 8:00 PM, clear skies,what appeared to be a red marker navigation beacon on a light civilian craft was seen moving from Southeast to Northwest, altitude estimated a 700 feet, speed at 125 to 150 mph, distance approximately 3 miles, no sounds, observed several minutes, appeared to travel normally until about 6 miles away, instantly stopping, held position momentarily then proceeded to rise and descend vertically at a high rate (much faster than any helicopter) several times then disappear. 1952, June, The Best one, about 11:00 AM, clear skies, observed craft Southwest at 50 degrees azimuth, approximately 800 to 1,000 feet altitude, it appeared to be between 100 to 150 feet in diameter, bright silver in color, no markings, no lines or distortion in its surface appearance, no openings, lights, exhausts, propellers, windows or sounds. It appeared to be constructed of metal with an optically perfect surface, the main body was a circular disk with about a seven to one diameter thickness ratio, across the length of the top surface there were three tubes parallel to each other, these were approximately the same height and width as the disk thickness. The tube tops and disk edges were about the same radius, from the round tops of the tubes their width or sides were vertical to the juncture of the main body with no indication of a seam. When the craft was first seen it was in a horizontal position motionless, all that could be seen was a circular disk with rounded edges, after watching for about three or four minutes I had the thought, "I wished it would move or do something so I could tell more about it.", at that instant it rotated to about a 60 degree angle where the top detail was seen. It was observed for another 3-4 minutes, I went into the house in search of a camera to no avail, a few minutes later I came back out and it was gone. I told no one about this for years, I didn't want to be known as another UFO nut case. Over the last several years some very interesting footage that the military as well as our space program has on film and reluctantly released, they cannot explain a lot of it with any logic that is satisfactory. On September 1991 the crew aboard the space shuttle Discovery was doing a live television feed when they sighted and captured on video an "Unidentified" that appeared to be entering the earth's atmosphere. This was seen Live by millions and has been nationally broadcast many times. It was plainly visible as a silver disk shaped object maintaining a consistent descending flight path at 200 to 500 mph; there was a brilliant flash of light that illuminated the shuttles interior surprising the crew. At the flash of light the "craft" stopped instantly, as soon as the craft stopped it immediately accelerated to thousands of miles per second in an oblique reverse direction. The most amazing thing was the SDI or particle beam burst that projected upward from the earth's surface to Exactly where the "craft" was located when the light flash occurred. The "beam" appeared as illuminated plasma particles travelling between 100,000 to 200,000 feet per second or about 1 tenth the speed of light. All the official sources say everyone was just imagining things; there was no saucer, no weapon fired. Be aware there is the very high probability that a lot is known by some but they are not telling.
